Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Generalist)

San Francisco, CaliforniaFull-time

We're looking for a senior generalist who can own features end to end across the full stack and move our product forward quickly. This is the role that most directly drives our biggest constraint right now: product velocity.

The strongest signal we're looking for is a true jack-of-all-trades who can step into any part of the codebase — but who also brings a sharper edge in one area. For us, that edge is geospatial / 3D data: 3D rendering, working with 3D models and geometry, and the kinds of data problems that show up when you're reasoning about physical parts. When we hit something niche in that space, we'd rather have someone who has done it before than spend a sprint researching frameworks and prototyping from scratch.

What you'll do

  • Build, harden, and deploy features across the entire stack — data and geometry processing through to the interfaces our customers and internal teams use.
  • Take real ownership of features from start to finish, while staying flexible enough to jump in and help anywhere so we're never blocked on a single contributor.
  • Help shape and execute the product roadmap, and contribute directly to product intuition — not just implement tickets.
  • Work closely with other engineers and interface with the business to understand requirements and priorities.
  • Help define our engineering process as we grow, in a team that ships to production weekly.

Must-haves

  • U.S. citizenship (required). This role works with sensitive government Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and is subject to government contract requirements.
  • In San Francisco, in person — 3–4 days/week at our co-working space (Friday remote optional).
  • Startup-pace mindset — comfortable prioritizing product velocity over stability while we move fast.
  • Strong CS fundamentals — data structures, algorithms, and systems design.
  • A real debugging and problem-identification approach — you can find and reason through the root cause yourself, not just produce AI-assisted output.
  • Sound judgment with AI tooling — you use AI tools to go faster without over-relying on them.

Domain fit (strongly preferred)

  • Experience with 3D analysis, CAD models, the software/hardware interface, or manufacturability. Direct experience is exceptional; strong, genuine interest is acceptable.
  • Comfort owning features across every layer of the stack and shipping production code at a fast cadence.

Communication & culture

  • You can explain technical work clearly to a non-technical person — this is a key culture-fit signal for us.
  • Strong communication, organization, and a thoughtful problem-solving approach.
  • You thrive in a lean, high-ownership environment with minimal structure.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with 3D printing and CAD/manufacturing file formats (STL, STEP, OBJ, and friends).
  • Exposure to defense or government work — familiarity with secure data environments and procurement-ready outputs is a plus, though not required.

Compensation

  • Competitive salary plus equity, benchmarked against well-funded startups.
